The captain was right. The bring-back was the miss.

Broncos 17, Seahawks 14 in overtime. Smith-Njigba was 12 for 134. Nix threw 107. The winning showdown paired the volume quarterback with the captain, then the touchdown back, the kicker, and the defense.

DraftKings captain was Jaxon Smith-Njigba at $17,400. He caught 12 for 134. That was the right name. FanDuel MVP was Bo Nix at $18,000. He was 17 of 27 for 107. Denver had 168 yards. Seattle had 353. The side was Denver and it cashed. The attempts were Seattle’s. Those are different tickets. We wrote that rule and then broke it on the sheet.

What the winning tickets rostered that we did not.

The public captain correlate was Sam Darnold, not Nix. Darnold was 27 of 51 for 278, no score, two picks. Captain $17,400 plus Darnold $9,800 is $27,200 and leaves $22,800 for four spots. We spent Nix $9,600 and Sutton $8,000, which is $17,600, on the team that threw for 107. Sutton was 2 for 19. That pair is why Darnold did not fit. RJ Harvey rushed 6 for 25 and a score and caught 3 for 31, 56 total yards. Dobbins rushed 17 for 41 and a score, so the lead back was not a zero. He was not the ceiling. Cooper Kupp was $3,200 and caught 5 for 50. Tory Horton was $2,400 and caught 1 for 13. Troy Franklin was $3,800 and caught 1 for 2. Cheap is not a path. Lutz kicked the 53-yard winner after McMillian’s interception. Seattle turned it over three times. We did not open a kicker or defense salary, so we do not invent one. A 17–14 overtime is still that script.

Hockey was the same shape. New Jersey won 7–1. Luke Hughes scored twice. Hischier, Gritsyuk, Rodrigues, Noesen, and Glass scored. Jack Hughes had the assist on Gritsyuk, and we rostered him, then Lafreniere on the one-goal side and a Vancouver minimum. One assist from a seven-goal game is not a stack. Brady Tkachuk’s hat trick in a 3–2 was a name we did roster. That part worked. McDavid did not fit the cap, and Edmonton lost 4–2, so fading the price was not missing the blowup. The next sheet stacks the game that can get to six, or it leaves the spot open.
