The Grid.
Value, not winners.

The pool takes 15–20% out of a win bet. A random ticket loses about that much. We rate the race, convert the odds, and bet a trifecta only when the favorite is shorter than 8-5 and the fair price clears the exotic takeout. Sunday, Nov 1. The Cup is final. T O Elvis won the Sprint. 13-11-7 missed.

Lean. The side is named. It is not combined with another side.
54
Card. One side for the day.
56
Absence. Published only when a confirmed absence changes the matchup.

The Cup is final. T O Elvis won the Sprint. 13-11-7 missed. It was not a win bet. Nitrogen won and we passed.

The price

4-1 is about 20%. 4-5 is about 56%. The number has to beat that, plus the takeout.

The pass

Most races are a pass. A morning line is not our price. A feature is not a hunt: a stakes race is not a reason to bet it.

The stake

Flat. About 1–2% of the bank. No double after a loss. Judge it on hundreds of bets.

The year is Parx, most days. Horseshoe Indianapolis. Mountaineer through Dec 9. Finger Lakes through Nov 25. Presque Isle while it meets. Charles Town nights. Laurel in the fall. Gulfstream in the winter. Keeneland when the meet is up. A race is still a pass until the price clears the takeout.
